Interstate Moving stress free

Here’s a solid list of things to ask (and check) when you’re planning an interstate move — so you can avoid hidden fees, delays, or scams.

  1. Are you licensed for interstate moves?
→ They should have a U.S. DOT number (issued by the FMCSA — you can look it up online). Fantastic Moves does and our number is USDOT 1032910
  2. Do you use subcontractors or third parties?
→ Some movers sell your job to another carrier — make sure you know who’s actually moving your things. Fantastic Moves utilizes full time crews who do your job from start to finish.
  3. Can you provide recent references or reviews?
→  Absolutely we can provide reviews. We have been in business since 1995

💲 Pricing & Estimates

  1. Is this a binding or non-binding estimate?
Binding = final price unless you add items.
Non-binding = can increase based on actual weight.
  2. What’s included in the estimate?
→ Packing, loading, fuel, stairs, long carry, shuttle, storage, etc.
  3. Are there any extra fees I should know about?
→ Ask about charges for bulky items, narrow streets, or last-minute changes.
  4. How do you handle payment?
→ Avoid companies that demand large cash deposits upfront.

📦 Packing & Handling

  1. Do you offer packing and unpacking services?
  2. How do you handle fragile or high-value items?
  3. What materials and techniques do you use for protection?
  4. Insurance & Liability
  • Released Value Protection (basic, free, ~$0.60 per pound per item)
  • Full Value Protection (costs more but covers full replacement or repair)
